Self-assembling biomolecular catalysts for hydrogen production

Combining the modified enzyme with a protective virus shell lead to higher enzyme stability and paves the way for a new generation of renewable catalysts inspired and synthesized by biology that have potential for low cost hydrogen fuel production. The encasulated enzyme is approximately 150 times more active than the purified free enzyme.
