ETOGAS wins Energy Award

On 14 November 2013, the engineers from ETOGAS GmbH (Stuttgart) won the Energy Award. The company was awarded in the category “Energy Startup of the Year” for its services around the renewable electricity storage technology power-to-gas. ETOGAS was particularly convincing with its creativity, the economic perspective and the long-term potential of the business idea to the jury. The Energy Award is awarded annually by the expert panel of the Energy Academy for outstanding achievements in the field of energy. Initiators of the think tanks are companies such as General Electric, the German Post Office and the Handelsblatt.

For four years, ETOGAS involved in the development and industrialization of power-to-gas plants. Audi recentlyused this technology for mobility purposes: For the car manufacturer. ETOGAS has built the world’s largest industrial power-to-gas plant with 6.3 MW in Lower Saxony Werlte. The plant was fully operational in the fall of 2013. The renewable synthetic methane, called Audi e-gas is provided for customers of the new A3-tron g.
